Say Whut!? is AVROTROS's daily quiz show on NPO Zapp where memory and quick thinking take center stage. We produced 30 one-minute 2D animations covering an incredible range of topics—from penguins and pirates to K-pop and Mount Everest. Each animation delivers facts at breakneck speed, cramming surprising, funny, and sometimes wonderfully useless information into rapid-fire visual sequences. Hosted by Niek Roozen, teams of Dutch celebrities watch these high-velocity animations before being quizzed on what they can remember through rounds like "Feiten Focus," "Keuze Stress," and "Feiten Smijten.
Speed, Style, and Substance in Animation
The challenge of Say Whut!? pushed our animation skills to deliver maximum information with maximum entertainment value in minimal time. Each one-minute animation required precise timing, clear visual hierarchy, and engaging motion design to ensure facts could be absorbed at lightning speed while remaining fun to watch. The project showcases how 2D animation can transform educational content into an exciting, game-like experience, proving that learning and entertainment aren't just compatible—they're most effective when combined with creativity and pace.
