Het Kippenhok presented us with an ambitious challenge: create a complete visual world for an immersive VR film experience. This wasn't just about adding effects, it required building entire digital environments that would feel real and responsive in virtual reality. We filmed at a professional greenscreen studio in Hilversum, capturing performances against blank canvases that would later become rich, detailed worlds. The real magic happened in post-production, where we leveraged Unreal Engine's real-time 3D capabilities to construct every environment from scratch. From interior spaces to expansive outdoor scenes, each location was meticulously designed to maintain visual consistency and enhance the storytelling. The project demanded close collaboration between live-action direction and digital world-building. We worked iteratively, ensuring that lighting, perspective, and spatial design aligned seamlessly between the filmed footage and the 3D environments. Unreal Engine's real-time rendering allowed us to preview and adjust scenes quickly, maintaining creative momentum throughout the production. The result is a VR film that transports viewers into fully realized digital spaces that feel tangible and immersive.
